Bosch ProCore 18V Battery Pack Now Includes 12.0 8.0 And 4.0 Ah Batteries

Cody Robertson wrote in about Bosch new ProCore batteries being spotted in extra large capacities with battery capacities of 4.0 ah, 8.0 ah and 12.0 ah! All credit to Travis Collins (@toolsbydesign)

Bosch’s ProCore series, a 10 cell fatpack battery that has 7.0 Ah and 10 cells, was announced not too long ago. They also previewed a large 15 cell battery pack that was speculated to have about 10.5 ah, and also had a compact 5 cell battery speculated to have 3.5 ah. Today’s Bosch battery news is far better than its previous announcements.

Starting off with the new 4.0 ah ProCore battery, it probably doesnt sound impressive at all since weve had 4.0 ah batteries for several years now, but those were 10 cell batteries. The Bosch ProCore 4.0 ah battery only has 5 cells inside making it very compact and the highest capacity compact 18V battery on the market today. As you might have guessed, the ProCore 8.0ah battery houses 10 cells making this the largest 10 cell pack available on the market. This pack will be sold alongside the previously-announced ProCore 7.0 ah battery. You also have two Bosch ProCore 10-cell batteries to choose from. The 12.0 ah battery, which is most likely to interest you the most, uses 15 cells for its incredible capacity.

All batteries are confirmed to use the newest 21700 battery cells that are a tiny smidge larger than the still new00 cells. Initial thought was that the Bosch ProCore first battery used00 cells, as their Bosch Core 18V 6.3 Ah battery had them. But several sources have suggested the new Bosch ProCore 18V batteries use the slightly larger and newer 21700 cells.

It would be easy to end the story there, but the ProCore announcement is a surprise. The 12.0 battery picture shows that it is designed to power high-performance power tools like a rotary, grinder, and table saw. Bosch currently sells 18V angle grinders and rotary hammers, so there is no news. However, they don’t have a cordless tablesaw and a cordless sliding saw. They do have 18V mitersaws, but not sliders. Bosch may be teasing us with unofficial announcements that they will have a new cordless table saw and a cordless sliding mitersaw, both powered by 18V batteries. I’m curious if the tablesaw will need one 18V battery, or two 18V batteries. What do you think?
